Register and join author, musician, and screenwriter James McBride on Zoom. McBride is well known for his 1995 memoir, the bestselling book The Color of Water, which describes his life growing up in a large, poor American-African family led by his ethnically Jewish mother. His 2023 novel, The Heaven and Earth Grocery Store is a murder mystery that contains a powerful story of place and community, of love and hate, and compassion and violence.
