Lake Forest Library offers fun activities during spring break
Lake Forest Library recognizes not everyone is able to go on vacation during spring break.
And for that reason, Lorie Rohrer, head of children’s services, wanted to offer extra activities during spring break at the library.
Lake Forest City Council: Lake Forest Library facing major repairs in 87-year-old building
The Lake Forest Library has served residents since 1898. The library moved to its current location, 360 E. Deerpath Road, Lake Forest, in 1931. The old building has housed books, learning spaces and library programs for decades. Today, the library needs a little tender love and care as it is facing a series of issues as discussed at the Lake Forest City Council meeting on Monday, Feb. 5.
Lake Forest Library collects Valentines for Veterans
Last year, Congressman Brad Schneider’s office started an incentive asking residents to make valentine cards for local veterans. Many people responded last year and Schneider was able to drop off heartfelt cards to the Lovell Federal Health Care Center in North Chicago and a breakfast of the Lake County Honor Flight.
LF library helps children ring in the new year
There was no ball drop in Times Square and no countdown to midnight, but Lake Forest Library created their own way to ring in the New Year for local children at their second-annual Noon Years' Eve event.
