Service Update: Foyer Pickup Only at Lake Forest Library beginning November 23

Due to the rapid rise in cases of COVID-19 in Lake County and surrounding areas, the Lake Forest Library building will be closed to the public for all services other than Foyer Pickup starting Monday, November 23.

The Library is taking this action with the guidance of the Illinois Department of Public Health and other agencies. The closure is intended to help slow the spread of the virus and keep our community and staff safe and healthy.

While the building is closed, we will continue to offer a variety of ways to take advantage of our collections and services.

What does this mean?

  • Materials placed on hold online, by email, or phone will be available to pick up in the Library's Foyer. Items will be checked out to you and be held for one week for pick up.

  • The Foyer will be open from 11:00 am–6:00 pm Monday through Friday and 10:00 am–5:00 pm on Saturday. Staff will be on-call in the building if you need assistance finding your items.

  • Library staff is happy to make recommendations for books, movies, TV shows and more via phone, email, or our online Recommendations form.

  • Materials from the 28 libraries in the CCS consortium will still be available for you to place on hold and pick up at Lake Forest Library.

  • Takeout Tech will not be circulating at this time.
