Book Sale Highlights
The Friends would like to thank the 2,610 shoppers who visited the 48th Annual Book Sale last September. We had a record 2,436 sales and numerous new Friends memberships resulting in $120,545.13 total revenue!
The book sale was possible thanks to ...
- 57 Friends book sorters who work year-round to curate and prep items for the sale 279 total volunteers during sale days, including 16 Abbott legal department employees and 20 enthusiastic high school students
- The support of Lake Forest Library Staff, Director Ishwar, and Head of Facilities Jim and his crew
- This year’s sponsors: Grainger, Uline, Sunset, Lake Forest Bank, AT Mechanical, Knauz, and Fresh Market
Since 1976 the Friends have donated $3.2 million to the Lake Forest community, including almost $3 million directly to the Library!

Off-site Think Local Pop-Up Shop
Shop the Friends of Lake Forest Library space at the Pop-Up Shop brought to you by the LF/LB Chamber of Commerce.
Stay tuned for details including location and Friends dates. Starting November 29, Pop-Up Shop hours are 11:00 am–4:00 pm on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

Apply for a Friends Scholarship Starting in January
Each spring, the Friends award $2,000 scholarships to up to three graduating high school seniors from Lake Forest, Lake Bluff, or Knollwood who demonstrate a passion for reading.
