Frances Robbins Odell was a longtime resident of Lake Forest. Kenan Heise's Tribune obituary quotes her son, Rice: "She began her career in pottery and ceramics … Her sculpture started as fairly representational but eventually became semi-modern and abstract." The Lake Forester obituary reported that during World War II, she headed the Ceramic Department at Great Lake Naval Hospital. She received an honorary doctorate from Lake Forest College. Her works were signed "Ginc."
