Each spring, the Friends award $2,000 scholarships to up to three graduating high school seniors (residents of Lake Forest, Lake Bluff, or Knollwood) who demonstrate a passion for reading. The Friends of Lake Forest Library inaugurated this scholarship in 2003 to recognize students whose lives are enriched by reading.

Application Process

Complete the application form
Submit a 500-word essay
Include a letter of recommendation from an adult who is not a relative
Submit completed application to:
1. The College and Career Resource Center by March 15, 2021.
2. Drop off completed application to Lake Forest Library by 5:00 pm on March 15, 2021.
3. Mailed applications must be postmarked by March 15, 2021.
