Summer Reading Programs
Children from "read to" ages through grade 6
Earn prizes after being read to or reading on your own! Read for 9 hours to complete the program; prizes awarded at the 2-hour, 5-hour, and 9-hour mark. Want to read more? Take on our Celebrate Reading challenge for a chance to win an additional prize.
Teens entering grades 7 through 12
Fill out a ticket for each book you read or listen to this summer. Finish four books to earn a $20 gift card to Lake Forest Book Store. Want to read more? Take part in our Teen Reader Challenge to be entered in our drawing for a chance to win a beach party pack!
Adults
Fill out an entry for every book you read to enter weekly drawings for $50 gift cards. You’ll also earn points for reading, as well as for engaging with the Library through activities such as attending a program, checking out a DVD, and following us on Facebook. Earn 10 points to win a popular new paperback book of your choice and be entered in a drawing for the grand prize: VIP access for you and three friends to all Lake Forest Reads: Ragdale events with Christina Baker Kline in October!
Can't attend the kick-off party? Visit the Reference Desk or Children's Circulation Desk to sign up for Summer Reading programs all summer.
