Eye on Illinois event.
Midwest Veterans Closet is a not‑for-profit organization located in North Chicago, just north of the Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center. It operates as a super spreader of food, goods, and dignity for our military heroes, many of whom are experiencing or are at risk of homelessness.
Midwest Veterans Closet also provides for active‑duty service members, many of whom are newly stationed at Naval Station Great Lakes, the only Naval Recruit Training Center in the country.
If you would like to donate directly to Midwest Veterans Closet, they accept financial donations, clothing, household items, small kitchen appliances, furniture, employment and housing leads, and food. A donate button, donation times, and a full list of accepted items are available at http://www.midwestveteranscloset.org/military-needs.html.
All donated goods are made available for free to current and past military service members and their families.
