Program Description

Details

Register and join historian Leslie Goddard, Ph.D., on Zoom for a living-history program about Brownie Wise. In the 1950s, Wise rose from single mother to head of an enormous sales force of housewives who sold Earl Tupper's flexible "burping" bowls at home parties. Although Wise propelled Tupperware to skyrocketing success, she was forced out by Tupper in 1957 and all mentions of her were erased from company history. Rediscover her story with us!

This event is co-sponsored by the History Center of Lake Forest–Lake Bluff in conjunction with their Modern in the Midcentury exhibit (open through November 1, 2024).

This program will be recorded and will be available for 2 weeks after the event.
