Hints for Breakout the Superheroes
NUMBER LOCK = See that the Breakout EDU logo is backward. This should hint to players that if you take a closer look at the image, you will see that there are numbers written in reverse in the lights of the buildings. Read the numbers in reverse order.
SHAPE LOCK = The machine at the bottom has a series of five buttons. Each of those buttons matches the bits on the keys above. Note the top bow of each of the keys is one of our shapes. We need to match the bits of the keys to the buttons in that order and use the shape of the bow for the combination.
DIRECTION LOCK = Each of the magazines has a volume number written on it. Each magazine cover also references a city. Players will need to visit each of the cities in order of the volume number and keep track of the directions traveled on a map. You might want a map of the U.S.
COLOR LOCK = Each of the photos of our Superheroes in action has a number word written backward. The players will put the numbers in order from least to greatest and use the color of the background for the combination.
COLOR LOCK = Players will notice that at the top of the floor plan of the Superhero Hideout, it talks about the colorful public rooms. Players will put the public rooms (not the Super Secret Hero room) in alphabetical order, and then tell you the colors of those rooms in that order.
HINTS FOR BIRTHDAY PARTY PUZZLER
COLOR LOCK: Watch the animated tails in order (the color is top of the tail, not the bottom)
3-DIGIT LOCK: Count the number of each of the 3 colored candles on a cake (blue, pink, purple - this is indicated by the order of the first three candles on the left)
WORD LOCK: What balloon letters are missing? What can they spell?
SHAPE LOCK: In this game of "Duck, Duck, Goose," notice the kids wearing shirts with symbols. Move around the circle in a clockwise manner (starting with square as the boy is touching her head first) and continue the pattern to collect the first five "goose" shapes.
4-DIGIT LOCK: Use logic to determine that the children's ages. What number is created adding 5 years ago and 2 years more?
DIRECTION LOCK: Move around the map according to the list of items to be collected.
HINTS FOR A VISIT TO THE ZOO
SHAPE LOCK: Players will need to subtract the number each lion ate from 18 and find the plate next to the lion that has that many steaks remaining. The shape of the lion’s eye is the shape for the combination.
COLOR LOCK: The text clue says: Players will see the word SUM capitalized in the text clue and will know to add. They will need to add up the numbers on the same color fish and match it with the penguin with the correct sum. The color of the penguin is the color for the combination.
DIRECTION LOCK: Players will use the text clue to determine how many ice cream cones are left over after the two orders. When they find out how many are left they will put them in number order from 1-6. The directions they move from each ice cream flavor is the direction for the combination.
DIRECTION LOCK: Players will recognize that the text clue has LEAST and GRAND capitalized. They will notice the people in the background had plus signs on their clothes. They will need to add up the numbers on the board and put them in order from least to greatest. The direction the elephant’s trunk is pointing is the direction for the combination.
