FT/PT:  Full time, full benefits, including medical and pension.

Hours:  37 hours per week (Monday - Friday); no evening or weekend hours

Salary:  $15.09 - $21.45 per hour


Position Description:

A full time position, the Technical Services Assistant is responsible for handling acquisitions, maintaining the Continuations list, creating preliminary data records for on-orders in SIRSI system, distributing mail, checking-in magazines, and withdrawing materials.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Placing orders for print and audiovisual materials with vendors.
  2. Creating preliminary data records for on-orders.
  3. Checking in newly arrived materials.
  4. Maintaining and updating the Continuations list.
  5. Checking in and distributing magazines.
  6. Distributing mail.
  7. Withdrawing materials.
  8. Preparing print materials for bindery and checking in when they are returned.
  9. Maintaining our Memorial account.
  10. Searching for missing items.
  11. Assisting in monthly acquisition data gathering.
  12. Photocopying and faxing materials as requested.
  13. Assisting in special projects and performing various Technical Services duties as requested.  

 

Qualifications

Education:  High school diploma required; LTA a plus.

Experience:  Basic Outlook, Excel and Word (MS Office 2010) knowledge and experience.

Personal:  Ability to pay attention to details; work independently; and be adaptable to change.

Part-time Graphic Artist

Hours:  20 hours per week (flexible as to days/hours); no evening or weekend hours

Salary:  Grade 6 Professional ($20.66/hr.)

 

Position Description:

The Lake Forest Library seeks a graphics artist to design and create materials promoting library programs and services using a variety of media. Duties include publishing the quarterly newsletter; PR print materials; coordinating displays and art shows; working with our Friends organization, public services departments, and Administration.  A bachelor’s degree in graphic design (or equivalent experience) and expertise with Adobe Creative Suite 6 are required. New graduates are encouraged to apply.
